Description

A comforting classic reimagined with vegetables, lentils, and deep Uhhmami flavour. Tender cabbage leaves are filled with a rich mixture of lentils, onion, and Uhhmami Bolo Kit, then baked in a smoky tomato sauce enhanced with Bacon’Ish. Prepare the Cabbage

  1. Prepare the Cabbage, Carefully remove 8 large cabbage leaves from the cabbage.
  2. Cook the leaves in lightly salted boiling water for approximately 10 minutes, until tender and flexible. Drain and set aside.
  3. Finely shred the remaining cabbage and reserve for the filling.

Make the Filling

  1. In a saucepan combine: Uhhmami Bolo Kit, lentils, water, diced onion and Finely shredded cabbage
  2. Poivre noir fraîchement moulu
  3. Bring to a boil and simmer gently for approximately 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are tender and the mixture is thick. Allow the filling to cool before assembling.

Assemble the Cabbage Rolls

Place a generous spoonful of filling onto each cabbage leaf.

Roll tightly and place the cabbage rolls in an ovenproof baking dish.

Smoky Tomato Sauce

  1. In a bowl, combine: diced tomatoes, tomato juice, Bacon’Ish, olive oil, Salt and freshly ground black pepper, Mix well and pour evenly over the cabbage rolls.

Bake

Cuire au 180°C (350°F) pour environ 20 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and the cabbage rolls are heated through.

Servir

Finish with freshly chopped parsley and serve immediately.
